The project today was to fly the two parafoils together. We started with the larger 1991 kite on about 50m of 4mm braided spectra. Once we had it in the air and it appeared settled we set about launching the smaller 1990 kite which was flown from the same ground anchor.
We did manage to capture a short section of flight on video and also some of the preparation of the kite sail for launch. Parafoils on Blackheath
The wind was only about 8mph which must be the lowest in which these kites will launch. The kite needs to be taken off the centre of the wind window and having ensured that all the bridle lines are running free and taut the cells can be inflated one by one until the kite is self supporting and can launch...
